It seems that despite claims to the contrary people are interested in reading and commenting about the state of the streets since the new bin scheme staggered into life.
So here's a quick update, and it's actually reasonably positive, sort of.
The street has been a lot cleaner of late and the problems at the top of the road haven't reoccurred. There is, or was, still a small green bin up there stuff full of plastic waste but that's better than it was.
It seems that recently the Council have even been around every week to take black sacks away.
However just around the corner the Last Bus Home is still having problems.
I was told a while ago that Floyd Road was a "priority road", is it still? Is this a standard level of service or are the Council still scampering around trying to keep on top of the mess while failing to tackle the cause?
Time will tell, and hopefully I'll have a bit more time on my hands to do the telling...

I spoke to the Council (during the strike the other week) and they told me that the black sacks were being collected every week for a short time. Is this them admitting defeat that people still put food in them and they start to smell if left for two weeks during the summer?
On a similar note, I stopped to look at a neighbour's bin the other day as it has piece of card hanging on the back - I was hoping it was an advert for bin sanitisers as our food bin is stinking now summer is here. No such luck. It was a 'note' from the Council "Dear Resident, this bin is for food and garden waste only". Evidently they are trying to address misuse of bins!
I'm amazed you found one still attached to its bin, and not lying in the road...
And there's me thinking I was the chief cynic, where Greenwich council are concerned.
Nat re bin sanitiser. I have a man who comes round every 4 weeks to clean my food bin, 3 quid a go. i just leave it in a little hidey hole for him to collect and when i get home the outside smells fresh. Tho why i have to pay for that i dont know!
